Teresa is a non-Indigenous Australian who has worked closely for the past 6 years with Aboriginal staff at the University of Wollongong to support the Indigenous Health curriculum in Graduate Medicine. As Chair of Scholarships and Prizes for medicine, she also has a strong desire to enhance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander attraction and retention in the degree.

In 2017, Teresa and her colleagues in Graduate Medicine were successful in being awarded a $50,000 grant to embed traditional Aboriginal knowledges into the Science, Medicine and Health curriculum at the University of Wollongong. This project involves teaching staff from Medicine, Nutrition and Dietetics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences and Earth and Environmental Sciences, all working closely with, and guided by Mr Jade Kennedy who is a Yuin man and traditional knowledge holder.
