Kath is an Arrernte woman who has worked in Indigenous health for over 35 years and has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Indigenous Community Management and Development, with Curtin University. Kath has worked as an Enrolled Nurse in 3 major hospitals in the NT and has worked as a Senior Aboriginal Health Worker in WA for a number of years on a Remote Aboriginal Community.
Kath has developed and delivered training packages for AOD workers, Cross Cultural workshops & Aboriginal Health Worker Training and held positions as Coordinator of the Night Patrol & Sobering Up Services in Darwin, Senior Aboriginal Liaison Officer at ASH, Aboriginal Community Worker for the Department of Families & Children’s Services and Contract manager with the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs for 5 years in Tennant Creek, NT.
Kath recently worked at the Centre for Remote Health in Alice Springs for 7 years as a Topic Coordinator for Post Graduate studies and assisted with the Introduction to Central Australia Aboriginal Cultures and Context workshops and is now working for Poche SA+NT at the CDU Campus in Darwin lecturing on Aboriginal Health into the 1st & 2nd Year Medical Program and Paramedicine.
