Melody is an Aboriginal woman, who has ancestral ties to the Bidjara peoples of southwest Queensland. Melody grew up on Darumbal Country (Rockhampton) and has now lived on the lands of the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi (Sunshine Coast) peoples for over 25 years. She has been involved in Indigenous health education for over 20 years,  including the development and implementation of Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice, and undergraduate and postgraduate health science degrees. Melody is the Head of Indigenous Health Education for the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health at the University of Queensland.
