If you have completed Year 12 and wish to study medicine, Flinders University now offers you a unique pathway. The Bachelor of Clinical Sciences enables you to enter the university’s internationally renowned medical course without having to complete a separate undergraduate degree first. Through this pathway you can complete a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences combined with the Doctor of Medicine in six years.
In the first two years, you will undertake studies in Clinical Sciences with either a Medical Science or Health Sciences focus before transitioning into the Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Year 3.
School leaver provisional
School leaver provisional entry pathways are offered by universities that have graduate-entry medical courses. They guarantee school leavers a place in the graduate entry medical program on the condition that they first complete a bachelor level degree course at the university and meet specified conditions (such as maintaining a particular grade point average and finishing the degree in the normal minimum time period).
September: Applications to SATAC closes in September. Students studying year 12 will be asked to enter their UMAT identification number when they lodge their application on SATAC’s UniWeb.
The selection into the course is based on your performance in the UMAT and obtaining a competitive ATAR, usually about 95 or higher.
