Overview

This program is an intensive two-year degree that will be offered full-time at the Gold Coast or Nathan on-campus mode. The program is only offered as an accelerated mode and includes both winter and summer semesters. There will be no break between semesters for the duration of the program.

You will develop knowledge and skills in modern biosciences and clinical sciences, with an emphasis on their application to the development of medicine, biomedical research and healthcare services. Provided you achieve a grade point average of 5.0 for the program this intensive program will prepare you for entry into Griffith’s graduate-entry Doctor of Medicine degree.

School leaver provisional
School leaver provisional entry pathways are offered by universities that have graduate-entry medical courses. They guarantee school leavers a place in the graduate entry medical program on the condition that they first complete a bachelor level degree course at the university and meet specified conditions (such as maintaining a particular grade point average and finishing the degree in the normal minimum time period).

This program is quota managed for which there is a limited number of places available to ensure that sufficient resources are available to support the students. Meeting the admission requirements for this program may not result in an applicant receiving an admission offer.

Admission to the Bachelor of Medical Science will be determined by the following criteria:

  • academic achievement for Year 12 applicants in the year before entry
  • OR academic achievement for applicants who have completed their senior secondary studies up to three years prior to application and who have not previously attempted tertiary study at Diploma level or higher
  • all prerequisite subjects (or their equivalent) must be met.
